The football season has been exciting so far for football fans in Nigeria and all over the world. Considering the Nigerian factor, many of us still prefer to watch football matches at viewing centers even though we have DSTV at home.

The reason behind this is not far-fetched, the fun and the actions of different kinds of people you meet at viewing centers makes football games more interesting to watch.

Here are 12 types of people you may possibly meet at football viewing centres;

  1. 1 The clappers

These ones will clap for everything the team they support does; passing, shooting, goal kick, foul…everything.

  2. 2 The fun catchers

Their work is just shouting ‘aaaa’,’ aaaa’  ”goal” for every dribble or clever pass.

  3. 3 The argument lords

These ones will argue from the beginning of the match until the end.

  4. 4 The shirtless squad

These ones will either come without a shirt or remove it in the middle of the game.

  5. 5 Too silent ones

These ones will come and be looking like they came there by mistake.

  6. 6 The questionnaires

These ones will just be asking stupid questions ‘What teams are playing’,’ which one is Madrid?’,’ what’s the score now’

  7. 7 The coaches

These ones will just be shouting ‘guy pass that ball to Martial, ‘Ooh boy shoot !’ ‘ref, are you not seeing that foul?’

  8. 8 The historians

Especially if their team is losing you’ll hear ‘ but we carried this cup back to back from 1995 to 2001’.

  9. 9 Olote (Hater)

These ones are NFAs – No Future Ambition. No, scrap that. Their mission at the ball house is to watch Manchester United lose to Wigan Athletic. Bad belle people. They can do witchcraft, they just don’t have the powers. Or do they?

  10. 10 Stander/Standist

These ones are always standing. And they’ll be sitting in front o, but they’ll still be standing.

  11. 11 The ones that don’t want to pay

These ones will be trying to negotiate with the viewing centre owner so they won’t pay.

  12. 12 The die-hard fans

These people are everything but plastic fans. Everything they do ooze their love for the clubs they support. You will find them at the centre clad in their club’s jersey 30 minutes before kick-off, sitting comfortably in a vantage point. They don’t like to miss any moment.
